You'd have to have been living under a very large rock for the past 50 years to be unfamiliar with the Honda brand. Honda Motors risen from the ashes of postwar Japan to become one of the world's most recognizable brands and one of the largest multinational companies.
Honda entered the lawn mower market in the late 1970s, but not in the same way that many of its competitors did. Rather than merely purchasing an established brand, the business created its own line of mowers from the ground up. The first of them appeared on the market in 1978. Honda today manufactures a variety of gas, electric, and robotic mowers that are well-known for their quality and longevity. We'll look closely at those mowers in our best Honda lawn mower reviews to determine if they live up to their reputation.

Gas vs. Battery
Even though some modern mowers run on batteries, Honda only makes mowers that run on gas at the moment. This could change as lithium-ion batteries get more powerful, but for now, if you want the power of a Honda model, you have to put up with smelly gas fumes and store gasoline in a garage or shed.
Concerning gas-powered engines, it's important to know that while all Honda mowers have Honda engines, some mowers from other brands also have Honda gas engines. People who want to buy a real Honda lawn mower should do a lot of research on the machine. The name "Honda" might be in the name of a mower made by someone else, but the only Honda part it might have is the gas engine.
Applications in the workplace
If you want to start a landscaping business or your old machine broke down and you need a new one as soon as possible, Honda makes a great selection of heavy-duty lawn mowers for business use. One of these is the Honda HRD 536 QX Rear Roller, which is great for making stripes, and another is the HRH professional range.
Many professional users might also prefer a ride-on mower, in which case the Honda HF 1211 HE ride-on mower can easily handle lawns up to 2,000 m2.
We hope that this has helped you find the best Honda lawn mower for you. If you still want to look around, you can shop for all of our Honda mowers here.
Where do Honda mowers come from?
Honda's decision to build their lawnmower factories in the US has earned them the praise and respect of a lot of Americans. In the 1980s, when many American companies were starting to pull out and move production to China and other places, Honda did something that seemed to go against the grain.
The company thought it could win over US consumers by hiring thousands of Americans to work in brand-new factories in the US to make lawn mowers for the US market. The gamble paid off well, as US homeowners paid back Honda's investment in the American labor market with strong sales that are still going strong today.
